A bad movie. Maybe Gregg Araki’s best. The movie fuses some great diy/campy sets/costumes with hatred for American culture with plenty of gore and porn, and it has a typically bleak ending with an ennui of life’s meaninglessness. What’s not to like. Well, perhaps the overtly gay “undertones” would make some of you wither. . .but those of you who may or may not be getting tired of endlessly copy/pasting the same trite insults could learn a thing or 2 from some of the dialogues. (pls.)

The movie follows 3 annoying clowns who have 0 redeeming qualities (the best kind of movie characters imo) as they attempt to escape the law / the murderous pursuits of Rose Mcgowan’s ex-lovers.

Favorite scenes, in order of appearance:

1. Quickie mart massacre. Plenty of blood, uncouth humor and revolting fake food, ew

2. Death by Katana. In a tinfoil interior superior to anything plotted by warhol’s amphetamine-riddled brain cells.

3. Violence against animals. Effective shots of a dog’s eyes as it dies.

4. the end.

Curious trivia: Rose Mcgowan was brought up by the same cult as River & Joaquin Phoenix.
