Possession Is The Greatest

Author: Movie Watcher

Possession is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Isabelle Adjani’s acting was incredible.. I always found it hard to find an outlet for my feelings but watching her go crazy was the most liberating thing I have ever seen in my entire life. Like seriously the kitchen scene where shes going off was so incredible. I have a lot of problems and was in an shitty relationship myself and holy shit her rage was exactly how I felt and I never thought someone in media could represent that. I love this movie so much and I want to explore the metaphorical themes with

Adjani’s scene in the tunnel is one of the finest pieces of acting in the history of cinema. Masterful. Hypnotic, bizarre, powerful, brilliant stuff right there. Possession is a film that’s stood the test of time too. It’s just as wild to watch today as the day it came out.

definitely check out Z’s other movies if u haven’t, very fun. on the silver globe i used to watch over and over.

separately, update on my love life: things are not developing at the pace i would have wished. in any case we now have abnormals coming out of the woodwork – some of whom have been at longstanding odds with the apple of my eye – and they are requesting my participation in matters i am partial to above all. as time goes on i feel ever more compelled to go it alone (shocker), but remaining alone is just stupid when life gives u lemons you would really need to make fish taste good…. …right?

Half the time that movie had me wondering if the actors were really acting or having actual breakdowns in front of the camera. Particularly the scenes from Adjani were batshit insane, but I read up that’s pretty much what Zulawski was going for: showing the audience the emotional messy chaos of a painful divorce. I also read up in 1976, Zulawski went through a divorce with his ex-wife and that was what inspired Zulawski to make this movie.
