Before finding this site, the only Asian movies I’d really seen were Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon and a handful of Bruce Lee flicks🤣🤣🤣
Seeing as I’ve spent years insulting a crusty old fool on here over Asian cinema, I figured I might as well stick my neck out and put up my own Top Asian Movies list. Most of these were carried over from an earlier list I made, “Cole’s Top EUM Movies”
I’ve watched a few more Asian movies here since then, but none of em have managed to crack what I consider the Top 40. One thing before anybody starts hollerin – HanaBi ain’t in the same league as Tumbling Doll of Flesh when it comes to pure artistry. But this isn’t a list of the greatest films ever made. It’s a list of movies available here that I’ve ranked based on a mix of shock value, beauty, emotional impact, and historical importance within their genre. Sometimes a movie lands higher because of what it made me feel. No movie lands lower on this list because it was a “kooky comedy with a bullshit convoluted plot.” That particular review method has already been claimed by a cranky old fool and I’m happy to leave it to him.

Soon the world premiere of “Old Mother Hubbard’s Top 100 Favorite Films on EUM” list will be available to view on EUM. It won’t have corny garbage like “The Chaser” (2008) or low budget porn for jerk offs like “Women’s Flesh: My Red Guts” (1999). I took my time on my list and didn’t slap in together in a fit of rage like some people did. Anyone that puts low budget porn garbage like “Tumbling Doll of Flesh” (1998) at #3 on their Asian top 40 list must love to jerk off.

It’s no surprise you have Memories of Murder and Tumbling Doll of Flesh ranked high on your list. They’re both completely suck eggs. I bet you know it as well but you don’t want to admit it, so you double down and insist on not only keeping them in your joker lists but ranking them high above other numerous movies that obviously outshines them both by a lot. I’d say its pitiful but that requires me to have some pity for you. There are some good movies on this list, although not a lot, but your retard pride got the better of you to keep Memories of Murder and Tumbling Doll of Flesh both ranked near the top. Finally a decent list and I have at least watched most of them. Hana-bi is one of my all time favs up with Tampopo, 1985. This place is for fucked up films but I still think Attack the Gas Station, 1999 is a worthy oddity that is missing on here. This is the kind of list a new member visiting would actually be getting a good start on twisted asian films.
