“Dirty Harry” (1971) If I ever make a list called “Old Mother Hubbard’s 25 Movies You Need To See Before You Fucking Die!” “Dirty Harry” will be way up there at the top. This is one of the best films ever made. Great story, acting, production, killer musical score, etc. “Dirty Harry” also features the most evil and most hateable bad guy in movie history – “Scorpio” played by Andy Robinson. There are many memorable moments with Scorpio i.e., at the Mount Davidson cross, at Kezar Stadium, when he pays the black guy to beat him up, on the school bus when he’s screaming at the kids telling them he’s going to kill all their mothers, etc.

If anyone hasn’t seen this movie they are missing one of the best action/serial killer movies to ever hit a movie theater. I actually saw this at the drive-in near when it first came out (I used to live close to a drive-in theater and sometimes we would just sit outside and watch movies). I’ve seen this film at least 25 times. I just watched it again and I love it just as much as the first time I saw it. 5 stars.

A little trivia for you:
When Harry (Clint Eastwood) is walking in to the burger joint to buy a hot dog if you look over to the right at about 00:10:30 you will see a movie theater with “Play Misty For Me” (1971) on the marquee which stars Eastwood as a disk jockey who dates a fan that turns out to be a frightening and homicidal lunatic. Clint Eastwood was really on a roll in the 70’s making a string of hit movies.

I might as well rank the “Dirty Harry” films while I’m talking about them:

1. Dirty Harry (1971) Loved it – see above. 5 stars.

2. Sudden Impact (1983) Another film Eastwood made with his long time girlfriend Sondra Locke. Great story, great revenge and all the bad guys you just hate with a passion. 5 stars.

3. Magnum Force (1973) This one is great too. Hal Holbrook as Lieutenant Briggs really gets it good. As an added bonus Suzanne Somers appears in her film debut and takes off her bikini top so we can see those gorgeous tits of hers. 5 stars

4. The Enforcer (1976) Not too crazy about this one although it is pretty good. Eastwood always has bad guys you hate in his films so it’s watchable but Tyne Daly gets on my nerves. Seeing her run around in a skirt chasing bad guys doesn’t work for me. 3 and a half stars.

5. The Dead Pool (1988) Not a fan of this one. It was time to knock the “Dirty Harry” series on the head and I’m glad Eastwood never made another one after this. 2 and a half stars.

Clint Eastwood has made a shit load of great movies. I think he’s a genius.
