“Possum” (2018) is a creepy psychological horror film about a creepy guy (Philip) who moves back in to his burned out, dilapidated creepy house with his super creepy uncle Maurice and his SUPER CREEPY puppet. Although Philip seems to despise the creepy puppet with the real looking spider legs he can’t seem to get rid of it. Inspired by the theories of the uncanny by psychologist Sigmund Freud, “Possum” is an unsettling experience with a wonderfully dark and foreboding soundtrack with bleak and dismal visuals and locations. Sean Harris is a fantastic actor and portrays “Philip” perfectly, becoming more pale and pasty looking the further the film moves forward.
Will I watch this film again? For sure. I was fucking creeped out big time by this one. 5 stars. It’s spooky!
