“The Thing” (1982). It’s almost unfathomable to believe that some people who visit EUM have never seen “The Thing” but I’m sure there must be a few. If you’ve never seen it you need to find it and watch it NOW. I’ve seen it probably more than 20 times and I just watched it again. If I do ever finish my “Old Mother Hubbard’s 25 Movies You Need To See Before You Fucking Die!” list “The Thing” will surely be on it.
“The Thing” is about 12 men in a research complex in Antarctica who are isolated thousands of miles away from civilization. One day a low flying helicopter enters their camp chasing a dog trying to shoot it. Long story short the intruder is shot and killed and the dog remains with the researchers. Unbeknownst to the researchers is that the dog isn’t what he appears to be.
“The Thing” is absolutely fantastic and keeps you riveted and interested throughout the film with insane special effects. The researcher’s trust in one another dissipates as paranoia sets in while they are stuck inside a claustrophobic inescapable environment.
One of my favorite films of all time. 5 stars.

What the fuck is this surface level ass review? You not gonna go into detail about the isolation aspect and how the creature can shapeshift into literally anything? The paranoia aspect of this movie is way more in depth than just men shaking in their boots like a Looney Tunes character uh do you not remember the blood testing scene? So fucking ass
